6. Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, just yourself! You will use all of our tools and materials. Lunches and refreshments are included so no need to bring any of your own unless you want to.

If you have any special dietary requirements please inform us 5 working day in advance.

7. How much can I learn in two – three days?

Our course is ALL hands on.

We have no reading or writing on the course. This saves an enormous amount of time. We will show you what to do on a certain lock and you will do it yourself while we refine and alter your technique.

The only way you will learn is by actually doing it yourself. That is why our course gets so much praise as you will do everything that the tutors do.

If you take the 3 day course you will spend the third day drilling and picking mortice locks and also fitting more locks. This is an excellent opportunity to practice. You keep the locks, drill bits and wood that you use on the third day so you can carry on practising.

If you book the two day course and wish to do the three day then that is no problem. You pay the extra £300.00 and arrive the same time the next morning. If you cannot attend the next day but still wish to do the third day at another time then you can just easily book a Wednesday with us.

The third day will always be on Wednesday’s.

8. Can I purchase tools immediately?

Yes. You can either purchase tools from any Locksmith supplier or you can purchase tools from us while you are on the course. Some tools we can sell slightly cheaper than the supplier and the others will be the same price as what the supplier sells them for.

We can also sell you stock. We sell the “UK Starter Pack” which consists of the popular locks that you will be using on a day to day basis. This is extremely popular with all students.

9. How soon can I get booked in?

Courses are run weekly starting on Monday’s.

This gives you a very short waiting time and we can normally get you on the course dates of your choice. We have a maximum of 4 students per course but if you are on your own then that is good too.

Check to find out the availability for the dates you require by phoning 020 8590 7111 or e-mailing us.

10. Do Locksmiths earn good money?

YES!!! All Locksmiths have their own prices but as mentioned earlier you can earn £50-£95 per hour labour + parts + materials during “normal” working hours.

A high majority of jobs can take just a couple of minutes so yes it can be extremely beneficial financially. If you attend evening jobs then you’ll be earning EXTREMELY well. There are also huge mark-ups and profits on locks for which we discuss in greater detail on the course.

We answer any questions on price charging during the course.

11. What about the certificate?

The UK Locksmiths Association Certificate that you receive at the end of the course guarantees you are able to purchase all your Locksmithing equipment and stock.

We supply you with a whole list of phone numbers of excellent Locksmith suppliers along with application forms so that you can get your desired items immediately.

The wonderfully designed certificate is proof that you have attended our course and without it you will not be able to purchase your items from the suppliers as they will request to see it before you can open an account with them.

12. Will I get a qualification?

There are no official qualifications in Locksmithing but you can be a recognised member of the UK Locksmiths Association which brings fantastic benefits to you and your company such as FREE advertising on the internet and use of the trusted and vetted Logo.

This will help you seal large contracts as well as standard work from the public, estate agents, contractors etc etc. You will earn your money back extremely quickly on this investment.

Being a member of the trusted and vetted UKLA gives you an advantage over your competitors who are not members.

If you are too busy to attend a job then then you could contact another UKLA member and ask them to do it for you. I’m sure they will ask you to do the same next time they are too busy.

13. Why is this course good value?

£695.00 (Incl. VAT) is excellent value for a Locksmithing course. We know of other courses in the UK who charge over £1,200.00. We feel, and going by what our students tell us on the anonymous questionnaire that they are given at the end is that our course is of the highest order. Lunches are included and all students can help themselves to as much food, drink and biscuits as they can handle.

We have been on other Locksmith courses just to see what they are like and to see if there is anything we can add to our own course so this ensures, in our opinion our one is by far the best in the UK.

Our Helpline is worth the money on its own. We respect all our students as we once started out in business and we know that questions need to be answered so we are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The helpline covers anything from “What do you think of this lock pick?” to “How much would you charge to fit this lock?” We are ALWAYS more than willing to help you and are ALWAYS available.

14. Will I be able to start as a Locksmith immediately once the course has finished?

Yes definitely. By the end of the two days you will be opening domestic and commercial locks such as Chubb, Yale, Union, Era, Legge, Sterling, Bird, Willenall, Walsall plus MANY more. You will be changing locks and fitting them too as this is the most common work for a locksmith. Take a look at the subjects taught and you’ll see we cover an enormous amount.
