UPVC Advanced Mechanism Course

Designed to give a practical knowledge and ability in the area of UPVC mechanisms and tubular locks

Our UKLA 1 day UPVC Advanced Mechanisms Course is designed to give practical knowledge and ability in the area of UPVC mechanisms and tubular locks. This can be added to our 3 day course at a reduced cost making it the fully complete 4 day course.

By the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • Identify, order and replace UPVC mechanisms.
  • Repair faulty mechanisms using Emergency Lock kits.
  • Open non destructively UPVC mechanisms using the Latch tool.
  • Open destructively UPVC mechanisms using the Lock puller tool.
  • Open non destructively Tubular locks using the Tubular pick tool.
  • Open destructively Euro cylinders on a smaller extrusion using the new Adjustable Snapper plus other types of Crackers.
  • Toeing and heeling
  • Set up a keyed alike pin cylinder system
  • Certificate, help lines and refreshments included.

£300 inc VAT if booked independently or if booked along with the 3 day course the cost is just an additional £100
(Or £250 for UKLA members)

This course can be added to the 3 day course which takes the course to Monday to Thursday for a total of £995 (including VAT)

LOCATION

The one day UPVC Advanced Mechanisms course will take place in the UKLA purpose built training centre located at the rear of

DURATION

The course is a one day add on course to complement any Locksmith qualification and will run from 0830hrs till approximately 1600hrs.

COST

The price will be a charge of £300 (inc VAT) for non-UKLA Members and £250 (inc VAT) for current UKLA Members.

Course Criteria:
The applicant must be already qualified as a Locksmith to take part in this course. The syllabus is an add-on to existing qualifications.

Included in Course:
The successful Candidate will receive a UKLA Advanced Certification in Lock Mechanisms, detailed course notes, and of course refreshments are on us!

COURSE SYLLABUS AND ITINERARY

Morning

UPVC Mechanism Identification – Identifying, measuring, selecting and ordering the correct mechanism for your job.

Emergency Lock Kit – Repairing, creating and customising UPVC Mechanisms.

Keying Alike – Changing the pins on cylinder locks to enable a key to open one or more locks.

LUNCH

Afternoon

UPVC Latch tool – Practical demonstration and use of the UPVC Latch tool to gain entry to Euro cylinders.

Adjustable Quicksnap/strong> – Practical demonstration and use of the adjustable quick snap to gain entry to Euro cylinders.

Plug Puller – Practical demonstration and use of the adjustable Plug puller to gain entry to Cylinder Locks.

Tubular pick set – Practical demonstration and use of the Tubular pick set to gain entry to tubular (D-shackle type) cylinders.

Toeing and heeling – Practical demonstration on how to take glass out of UPVC windows and doors.

Certificates – Presentation of course certificate.
