If you are considering buying a padlock it is worth spending an extra few pounds to make sure it is a good one.  Too many padlocks are far too easy for a burglar to break off or get through.  Also make sure that the fixing such as the hasp and staple are of equal good quality.

August - 2008

April - 2008
If you are locking anything using a chain (such as a bike, scooter etc) make sure not only the chain is of high quality but also the padlock.  The chain is only as strong as the padlock and vice versa.  So if you buy a really good chain but a low quality padlock then you are doing yourself no favours in the long run.

March - 2008

If you are a Landlord and you want to keep track on how many keys are in circulation for each lock you could get your UKLA Locksmith to fit a "Mul T Lock".  Extra keys can only be cut if the tennant has the "card".  The "card" is given the to the key cutter which is proof of ownership who then cuts the key.  So if your tennant moves you can then get the keys back and give to the new tennant and not worry about changing the locks as you know there is no extra keys in circulation.
